Yanbaru forest and sky — where SAKHRANI whisky is refined, Okinawa.
Our Story

Behind
Sakhrani.

Two journeys. One decision.

Our Story

Two Women.
One Island.

We built Sakhrani from a shared belief: that Okinawa has something rare to offer the world of whisky.

No one expected a serious whisky to come from Yanbaru. Two women building one did not fit the usual story. But that is exactly why we built it. One of us was born here. One of us chose it as home.

Sakhrani is our way of sharing what this island has given us. A whisky from Yanbaru, full of place, memory, and the kind of quiet you choose for yourself.

“I didn’t discover Okinawa. I’ve lived here for 27 years. I simply decided it was time to share what I already knew.”
— Sabrina Sakhrani, Founder
“Yanbaru gives whisky something no other place on earth can. I was born here. I grew up with it. This is the taste I have always wanted to share.”
— Ayako Ikehara, Master Distiller

Our Home

Yanbaru

Where forest meets sea.

Nestled in the northern reaches of Okinawa, Yanbaru is a UNESCO World Heritage site — a subtropical rainforest where water drawn from Ogimi Village flows through the ancient forest toward the East China Sea.

This is where our whisky completes its journey. The humid air, the ultra-soft water, the salt-kissed breeze — all of it shapes what Sakhrani becomes.

02

A protected subtropical ecosystem, rich in rare biodiversity.

03

The Craft

Time.
Wood.
Climate.

Bottled at 47% ABV. Non-chill filtered. No colour added.

01

The Blend

A proprietary blend drawn from Scotland’s great whisky regions — Highlands, Speyside, and Lowlands — composed specifically to mature in Yanbaru’s subtropical climate.

02

The Blender’s Instinct

Ayako Ikehara’s blending creates a foundation of remarkable depth and balance — knowledge not learned, but inherited across five generations.

03

The Maturation

Each expression evolves in Okinawa, where climate, oak, and time shape its final character. What emerges could not have been made anywhere else on earth.
